Anyone who has an employee is required by the State of Alaska to carry workers’ compensation coverage. Definitions of “who is an employee” are available through the State (Contact the Division of Workers' Compensation at 907-465-2790). Workers compensation insures loss due to statutory liability of employer as a result of personal injury or death suffered by employees in the course of their employment, providing compensation in amounts prescribed by law.
